Holding on For Life

As a member of the cucurbit family, butternut squash plants often vine themselves on anything their tendrils can grab on to. As seen in these pictures, they are able grow amongst a Peruvian apple cactus, Cereus peruvianus, and produce hanging fruit. Growers can get quite creative when growing squash and similar crops. Trellises, trees and fences are all possibilities for the avid grower; plants will never cease to amaze.
